Randy Moore Will Attempt to Break Record at zMAX Dragway’s NOS Energy Test-N-Tune This Saturday

(Concord, North Carolina – zMAX Dragway PR) – This Saturday, professional monster truck driver Randy Moore and his Aaron’s Rent to Own monster truck will attempt to be the first monster truck to break the 100 mph barrier at zMAX Dragway during the second round of NOS Energy Test-N-Tune.

Moore, the owner of War Wizard Racing in Bristol, Tenn., has more than 30 years experience in drag racing, competing in NHRA and IHRA events nationally. Fans can watch as Moore and his monster truck make three attempts to surpass the 100 mph mark on Saturday at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.

Randy Moore will attempt to break the 100MPH barrier this Saturday at zMAX Dragway.

The Aaron’s Rent to Own machine, the sister truck to Monster Jam icon War Wizard, currently holds the world speed record for a monster truck with a speed of 93 mph, which was set a Bristol Dragway in October of 2011. The truck is 10 feet tall and 12 feet wide and tips the scale at 8500 pounds.

zMAX Dragway’s NOS Energy Test-N-Tune is a “run what you brung” event where participants can dial-in their personal rides from dragsters, souped-up street bikes, classic cars, luxury cars and soccer-mom vans.

Gates and registration open Saturday at 9 a.m. for the NOS Energy Test-N-Tune, with racing action from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission for spectators is just $5 for adults and free for kids 13 and under.

  1. Really Randy, 100+? You know that’s not going to happen. Wonder what Vegas would put odds on that failure if they weren’t so concerned with March Madness right now. We love you man, all the way back to your mud “bogging” days with the Valvoline Kid (or even Stumpy II for those of you who didn’t live & love it in person & only follow old youtube videos), but just because you used to race IHRA doesn’t mean you can make a monster truck top 100. If you want to impress people these days, take your truck to Gravelrama and make it over the Big Eliminator. No one has done it since Jim Kramer in Bigfoot IX back in 1990… Eh? Just a suggestion.
