Weekend Recap

This time on The Allen Report Revival, excitement was in the air as the 2024 International Monster Truck Hall Fame Ceremony & Reunion took place at the museum itself in Butler, IN, in the northeast part of the Crossroads state on November 15-16, 2024. Spectators came from as far away as Texas and New York State to watch the three new Monster Truck Hall of Fame inductees and two Landmark award winners receive their honors.

The lucky recipients were as follows:

  • Jeffrey Cook, driver of Giant and Maximum Overkill from 1990 to 1993. Builder, owner and driver of War Wagon from 1993-2003 and IMTM co-founder and President from 2010 to today.
  • Rob Fuchs, owner, driver and builder of First Blood monster trucks from the late 1980s to 1994.
  • Scott Douglass, announcer for TNT Motorsports from 1988 to 1990, voice of Monster Jam in live events, television episodes, home videos and video games from late 1990s to late 2010s.
  • Landmark Award Winner #1 was Jan Gabriel, producer and host of the iconic “Battle of the Monster Trucks”, “Return of the Monster Trucks” and “War of the Monster Trucks” television specials. The deceased Jan was represented by his daughter Mandy.
  • The second of the two Landmark Award Winners was Mike Sage of SCS Gearbox, represented by his son Craig. SCS put transmissions and transfer cases into a myriad of monster trucks over the years.

The anticipation had been growing for weeks ever since the announcement of the inductees at the IMTM’s fall monster truck show and museum staff had been hard at work getting the museum in shipshape for the festivities. These festivities began on Friday night with the meet and greet. Past drivers and mega fans alike shared stories and anecdotes, plus the occasional roast. Memorabilia was displayed, talked about and even occasionally sold. Despite the joy and excitement, the crowd eventually dissipated as Friday night event ended.

Saturday morning got going early with the customary history discussion in the museum banquet hall. Stories were told, memories were relived and laughs echoed. The event ended at Noon and the banquet hall was reconfigured for the evening’s banquet and hall of fame induction ceremony would take place later that night.

That evening, both ladies and gentlemen donned their finest fashion for the main event of the weekend, the Monster Truck Hall of Fame induction ceremony itself. First a delicious meal was catered as monster truck video footage played on TV screens, all of which can be found nowhere else but the Monster Truck Museum. The museum staff and sponsors were recognized for their contributions.  The evening’s agenda continued with the honoring of the 2024 Hall of Fame inductees and the Landmark Award winners.  All the recipients were very deserving of their honors. Finally, to cap off the evening, the annual fund-raising memorabilia auction was held, which raised funds for the museum.

Preparations for the museum’s 2025 season are now well underway, with plans to reveal a schedule of events very soon. The Allen Report Revival is honored to be involved with the one and only museum anywhere in the world dedicated to monster truck history. We also hope that everyone has a safe and happy holiday season and hope to see you in 2025.
